About
David Crow is a New York City-based film journalist who has pursued a love of cinema for as long as he can remember. He began working as a freelance critic at several websites, including Den of Geek, in 2012 before being hired as an associate editor and chief film critic at the website in 2013. In 2021, he became a senior editor for the website. In the interim, he helped build the site into an international destination for genre enthusiasts and cinephiles of every stripe, contributed to the creation of and leadership on the quarterly Den of Geek Magazine, and established a presence for the company as an interviewer at major film festivals, including SXSW and TIFF.
David has hands-on management experience, leading a team of staff writers and freelancers to coordinate film coverage and organizing an editorial calendar that runs on a tight deadline. He’s likewise treasured the chance to introduce readers and fans of mainstream films to a wider variety of independent and international cinema, particularly at the crossroads of cutting edge genre moviemaking. He’s thrilled at the opportunity to champion young and emerging voices out of festivals and getting a chance to study firsthand how cinema shapes and influences our culture, from film sets to the movie house.
Over the years, he’s written thousands of articles which have taken him around the world, from London to Vancouver, and from Tokyo to Bogotá. He has also interviewed some of the most defining filmmaking voices of our era and become a member of the Critics Choice Association. Most of all, he is grateful for the chance to do something every day that he loves. He also has a dog.
